Flight Emprise I – Kingdom (Cnoc Fraochan) Anno Pax Domini II

The kingdom lies in the shadow of a thousand wooden shafts raining down over the northeastern regions. Our woods echo with the thud of a hundred axes cast against the castle gates. Our enemies suffer from the cuts of dozens of knives spinning through the air. And we feast on the flesh of the wild things brought down by our mighty spears.
The spirit of chivalry does not belong to the sword alone. Our enemies must be engaged at range just as they are hand-to-hand. As such, the warriors of our fair kingdom must train with missile weapons as staunchly and stoutly as they do with any others, and they must measure their skills in competition with each other. Such is the nature of Flight Emprise – emprise is a feat of chivalry… of derring-do. Join us as we celebrate the spirit of chivalry in a festival of weaponry in flight.
Not into missile weapons but still want to come to the event? No problem. Our heavy weapons marshal will be on hand to conduct authorizations, monitor pick-up fights, and (with enough interest) perhaps even run a formal tournament for anyone who wants to indulge that aspect of medieval life. Our period board games will also be scored for those who are not martially inclined, and best performance of the day across the gaming tables will also be recognized.
Rumor has it that the kingdom brewers guild may have a couple of interesting beverages on tap to assist with enjoying an evening around the fire.
Cost is $18.00 per adult / $12.00 per child over 6. There is an additional $5 charge per attendee for those who are not paid members of the SMA, Inc.
Registration for the event includes breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings and a “stone soup” style supper on Saturday. For those that don’t know the tale of the stone soup, visit https://stonesoup-enc.org/the-story. We ask that those attending each bring an ingredient to add to the soup pot.
